  • The Molecularium The project by the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center at Rensselaer blends art and science to create unique vehicles to excite, entertain, and educate children of all ages about science in the world around them.

  • Materials Science and Nanotechnology Modules for Teaching K - 12 Science
  • Purdue Nanohub contains many web-based modeling and simulation tools to study nanosystems. This is a cyberinfrastructure initiative by the NSF-funded Network for Computational Nanotechnology.
  • Visual Quantum Mechanics Explorations of the Quantum World for Non-science Students
  • Interactive Nano-Visualization in Science and Engineering Education [IN-VSEE] A central theme that ties the modules together is that the structure, properties, processing, and performance parameters of a material are intimitately linked at all levels of scale.
  • Quantum Interactive Learning Tutorials for the advanced undergraduate courses in Quantum Mechanics.

  • National Institute of Standards and Technology Site for kids
  • The National Nanotechnology Initiative is a mutli-agency framework to ensure U.S. leadership in nanotechnology that will be essential to improved human health, economic well being and national security. The NNI invests in fundamental research to further understanding of nanoscale phenomena.

  • Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies This project is dedicated to helping ensure that as nanotechnologies advance, possible risks are minimized and public and consumer engagement remains strong. It includes reports on the effects of nanotechnology: "Getting Nanotech Right: A New Report on Government Oversight of Nanotechnology" and "Informed Public Perceptions of Nanotechnology and Trust in Government". It also includes an inventory of more than 200 nanotechnology consumer goods.

  • Cornell Center for Materials Research provides support to pre-K - 16 teachers, students, and community groups. More than 50 hands-on modules in chemistry, earth science, engineering, materials science, math and physics.
  • Center for the Science & Engineering of Materials at Caltech Media articles and a list of education web resources about plastics and polymers. Check the current development of hands-on science modules for middle schools.
  • Materials World Modules is an NSF-funded inquiry-based science and technology educational program based at Northwestern University. Includes modules on biodegradable materials, biosensors, ceramics, composites, concrete, food packaging, polymers, smart sensors and sports materials.

  • PhysTEC The Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) is a program, funded by NSF and FIPSE, to improve the science preparation of future K - 12 teachers.

  • Physics Teaching Resource Agents (PTRA) The AAPT/PTRA program seeks to provide sustained professional development to teachers of physics and physical science by maintaining a nationwide cadre of over 100 accomplished high school teacher-leaders trained ad updated yearly to conduct extensive series of workshops in their local regions throughout the U.S.
